Tour Itinerary
1 Day 1 - Arrival NJP/ IXB To Pheuntsholing
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP / IXB & transfer to Pheuntsholing – The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India , Pheuntsholing (also sometimes spelled Phuntsholing) is the second largest town in Bhutan (population around 40,000) and is located on the Indian border, next to the town of Jaigaon . Evening free . Overnight stay at hotel.
2 Day 2 - Transfer to Thimphu. Sightseeing Thimphu.
After Permit , transfer to Thimphu. After check in at hotel, half day sightseeing Thimphu. Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan. Visit King's Memorial Chorten (Monument), Chang Gangkha Monastery (one of the oldest monastery in the valley), National Zoo (contains national animal takin), National Library (collections of holy scripts) & BBS Tower. ( If Time is not Permit for visit next day sightseeing will arrange ) , Overnight in Thimphu.
3 Day 3 - Whole day sightseeing Thimphu.
Visit Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, School of Arts and Crafts (also known as the painting school), National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Traditional Paper Factory (made from Daphne plant). Overnight in Thimphu.
4 Day 4 - Morning transfer from Thimphu to Punakha/Wangdue (via Dochula Pass). Whole day sightseeing
Morning drive (70 kms / 2.30 hrs) to Wangduephodrang, with a stop en route for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas. In Wangdue, stop at Mehsina village & visit Chime Lhakhang - The Temple of Fertility built in 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kinley. (This monk is popularly known as the Devine madman for his philosophy, “Salvation through sex”). Afternoon drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, and visit Punakha Dzong, which is noteworthy both for being one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan and also for having been built by the first Shabdrung in 1637. Overnight in Punakha.
5 Day 5 - Day excursion to Phobjikha valley. Evening back to Punakha.
Gangtey & Phobjikha- [alt. 3000m] : The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. The surprise of finding such a wide, flat valley without any trees after the hard climb through dense forests is augmented by an impression of vast space, and extremely rare experience in Bhutan where most of the valley’s are tightly enclosed. A few kilometers beyond the Gangtey Monastery, on the valley floor lays the village of Phobjikha. This place is the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower climate. Phobjikha, at an altitude of 2900 m, falls under the district of Wangduephodrang and lies on the periphery of the Black Mountain National Park , the two rivers actually represent a snake and a boar. The two animals once raced each other with an agreement that if the snake (Nakay Chhu) won, O/n Punakha .
6 Day 6 - Morning transfer to Paro. Half day sightseeing Paro.
Morning transfer (160 kms / 4 hrs) to Paro. After lunch drive 12kms north of Paro to hike to Tango (Horse's Head) monastery. It will take about 45 minutes to hike to the monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college, and it's the residence of the Desi Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango. Overnight in Paro.
7 Day 7 - Day excursion to Chelela Pass. Evening back to Paro.
Morning drive to Chelela Pass. Enjoy the scenic vistas from Chelala Pass (3,988 mts.), among the highest motor able roads in Bhutan. Afternoon sightseeing of Paro & stroll down to the market.
8 Day 8 - Morning transfer To Dooars
After check out drive to Dooars in India (190kms / 06 – 07 hrs). It’s a famous Wild Life Sanctuary for one horned rhino and Indian elephant. O/n stay at hotel / Resort .
9 Day 9 - Dooars To IXB / NJP
Early morning elephant ride/car safari ( Own Cost )inside the grassland of Dooars to watch the great Indian Rhino in their natural habitat. Drive to Bagdogra/NJP Station (142kms / 04hrs) to your onward journey. – Tour Ends
